El Rayo vuelve a dejar escapar los tres puntos
Rayo Vallecano y Extremadura firmaron un empate en un partido pésimo por parte de ambos equipos. Se adelantó primero el Rayo gracias a la ayuda de Lomotey en propia puerta, mientras que Alex Alegría hacía el empate para los extremeños. A pesar del empate, el equipo franjirrojo suma ya seis partidos sin perder. Por su parte, los de Almendralejo consiguen sacar un empate valioso de cara a la salvación.

Vallecas acogía el encuentro correspondiente a la jornada número 25 de la Liga Smartbank. El conjunto franjirrojo venía de clasificarse para los octavos de Copa, mientras, el equipo visitante venía de perder en casa ante el Almería.
La primera parte iba a ser de lo peor que se ha visto en Vallecas a lo largo de la temporada, poco vistosa para el aficionado. Ninguno de los dos equipos conseguía tener el control del partido, ni siquiera crear ocasiones de peligro y con constantes interrupciones.
La segunda parte decidió el encuentro
Fue más entretenida que la primera parte, gracias a los goles, porque lo que fue juego y ocasiones fue un reflejo de la primera. En el minuto 56, Andrés superaba a Casto, pero Jose Pardo conseguía llegar y despejar el balón, con la mala fortuna que la pelota golpeó en su compañero Lomotey, introduciéndose el balón dentro de la portería.
El Rayo conseguía adelantarse en el marcador, y a partir de ahí fue soltándose más. En el minuto 70, el equipo vallecano pudo ampliar el resultado. Trejo puso un centro que remataría solo de marca el central Saveljich, remate que desvió el guardameta del equipo extremeño.
Cuando el partido parecía que acabaría con triunfo rayista, en el minuto 88, Nono asistía a Alex Alegría y el ex-rayista ponía el empate definitivo del encuentro.
Así finalizaba el encuentro. Reparto de puntos para los dos equipos, en un partido que ninguno hizo mucho por ganar, y deja al Rayo decimoprimero con 33 puntos, a tres de los puestos de “play-off ”. Por su parte, el Extremadura se mantiene en puestos de descenso con 23 puntos, a tres de la salvación.
