I’ve been a fan of Golden Goose Deluxe Brand for a while. They were founded in 2000 after the collaboration between Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. As time went on, they have become a major designer brand with retail locations in multiple countries, and it’s one that many fashion lovers are drawn to.
I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often look through what FarFetch had, as they always had an amazing selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and looked too similar to Converse, so they were always on my mental wishlist. Some time back, Adam was the one who was the early fan and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Having seen his in person and realizing the uniqueness of each pair because they’re handmade in Italy, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are deliberately worn-looking and made to look used and abused, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have much more abrasions and dirt than others, so the variation is wide.
If you’re buying at a store, it might be a good idea to look at multiple pairs and select from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to hope you get a good pair!The pair of sneakers that I liked from the beginning are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been available for years, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I first spotted the pair of sneakers I loved in the goldengooseslides.com image above, and although they’ve remained on the market for ages, I somehow didn’t buy them. I actually ended up getting the silver pair from Shopbop and they’re a pair I have worn on and off over the years (see here and my write-up on Golden Goose here). I adore them completely! I grabbed a duplicate pair and jazzed them up using black laces and a burgundy star, which made them extra adorable! In my collection, I’ve also got a velvet burgundy Golden Goose and two different high top versions! I’m eyeing a black version at the moment, but since I already have black canvas Converse, I’m torn about whether it’s worth owning both, even if they serve different vibes.

They’re the highest quality sneakers I have.
